We’re so excited to share that ACS is teaming up with the Art space Huella! They’ll be offering awesome art and ceramics classes right here at school, with their certified instructors leading the fun. We just know it’s going to be a blast!
The Art space Huella seeks to make art a daily, accessible, and transformative experience, offering workshops in various contemporary disciplines for students of all ages. Its purpose is to foster creativity, well-being, and connection through artistic practice.
Description - Art classes
These classes introduce children to various art forms and techniques in a fun and supportive setting.
Creative Exploration: Children are encouraged to experiment with a wide range of art materials and techniques, such as drawing, painting, sculpting, and collage. The focus is on exploration and self-expression, allowing kids to discover their interests and talents.
Structured Projects: Each class includes structured projects that guide children through specific techniques or themes. These projects help kids learn new skills while giving them the freedom to incorporate their ideas and creativity.
Skill Development: The class covers fundamental art skills, including color theory, composition, texture, and perspective. Children practice these skills through hands-on activities that build their confidence and proficiency.
Art Appreciation: Kids are introduced to famous artists, art history, and various art movements. This exposure helps them understand the broader context of their work and inspires them through examples of diverse artistic styles.
Description - Ceramics class
Ceramics class for children is a creative and hands-on experience where young artists can explore the art of working with clay. This class introduces kids to basic ceramics techniques, including molding, shaping, and decorating clay to create unique and personal pieces.
Clay Basics: Children learn about different types of clay and how to handle and prepare it for sculpting. They are introduced to basic tools and techniques for shaping and texturing the clay.
Hand-Building Techniques: The class focuses on hand-building methods, such as pinching, coiling, and slab-building, allowing kids to create various forms like bowls, pots, and sculptures. These techniques are taught through simple, age-appropriate projects.
Creative Exploration: Kids have the opportunity to explore their creativity by designing and decorating their pieces. They might use stamps, textures, and glazes to personalize their creations.
Firing and Finishing: The class often includes the process of firing the clay in a kiln to harden it. Children learn about this step and may see their pieces come to life after being glazed and fired.
